You were made to shine, not tomorrow, not someday, but now.
Ever wondered why darkness exists? It’s not to stop you; it’s to show where your light needs to shine. Light doesn’t tiptoe, it erupts, it overcomes, it wins.
Recently, God began to speak to me about light, about what it truly means to be light. Not just to carry it, but to embody it.
Light isn’t weak. Light has power, intensity, and force. When light appears, it doesn’t tiptoe in; it comes with full energy, full strength, full glory.
Anything that is not light is darkness. And anything that is dark is not from God.
As light, we are not meant to blend in or stay quiet. We are meant to reveal the inferiority of darkness by driving it away. That’s our design. That’s our purpose.
ARISE. SHINE.
In Isaiah 60, God gives us this timeless call:
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
The presence of darkness is not a reason to hide; rather, it is a summons for light to manifest. Darkness only reveals where light needs to shine.
You were made to shine. You are light. And light does not negotiate with darkness. You are God’s strategy, His divine mechanism to chase Satan and his cohorts away.
So shine: in your home, in your purpose, in your generation.
Because that is who you are, LIGHT.
And when light shows up, darkness doesn’t get to stay. Light has a mandate: to expose, to reveal, to overcome.
So when darkness shows up, don’t shrink back. Step forward—because light always wins.
THE GLORY IS UPON YOU
You shine because the glory of God is upon you. You are not meant to be hidden. Don’t let your present circumstances determine the frequency or range of your shining.
The glory of God is upon you. You are not useless. You are not abandoned. You are not forgotten.
One of the attributes of light is boldness, and darkness—its direct opposite—is fear.
So shine. You’ve been given the power and the mandate. Don’t let darkness win. You are the solution needed for the scarcity of nations.
Again, I say, you are not useless. Don’t mind the negative things people may have said about you.
Light is not ugly; it is beautiful. And you were made to shine.
I’m honestly just so glad you’re here. Because this, what you’re reading right now is not a coincidence. Whether you’re tired, curious, broken, hopeful, or just scrolling through life looking for meaning, I want you to know this:
You are seen. You are loved. You are not alone.
My name is Overcomer, and I co-founded Torch Lighters with my dear friend Divine. This space was born out of our personal battles, healing journeys, and a deep burden to see young people rise from the dust of depression, addiction, shame, and fear—to become the light God created them to be.
I know what it’s like to feel stuck. I know what is like for the guilt of sin to make you feel unwanted by GOD I know what it is like to feel that your prayers are not answered because of the guilt of sin
For a long time, I was addicted to pornography and masturbation. It was a painful cycle. I wanted to stop, but I couldn’t. I’d ask God for forgiveness and fall back the next day. Guilt swallowed me. I lost my confidence. I hid myself from people. I felt like I was too broken to ever be fixed.
But Jesus met me there—right in the middle of the mess. He delivered me. And with that came a peace I never thought I could have. Now I know what it means to live free, think clearly, walk in joy, and hope again.
I want that for you, too.

what does”arise and shine” or “burning one” even mean?
Let me break down what it means to be a burning one… the purpose of fire is to both burn and shine and thats exactly what God has called us to do. Burn bridges, lies, burn through darkness and shine. It is simple friend. The way we live will indicate what exudes out of us. The enemy desires that you sit in darkness and be hidden, but in the beginning it was not so. Jesus says He has placed you on a lamp stand for all to see [Matthew 5:16] and the enemy knows that. So, he is fighting it. But, you have authority over him through Jesus. If you have noticed that you are not really shining as you should, do not beat yourself up my friend this is the time for you to arise and shine. [Matthew 5:16, Isaiah 60:1].It is who you are.
If you have been searching for your purpose, feeling empty, tired, worn out, depressed, anxious, scared, if you feel like you have been sitting in the dark for so long and you can’t get out Jesus calls to you right now He says:
28″Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
29 Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
30 Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
[Matthew 11:28-30]
Jesus is here for you and with you in this moment right now, change can happen my friend, all you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you will be saved. Romans 10:9.
Just the way you don’t have all the answers before you take and uber or fly a plane or sit on a chair thats the the exact way you dont have to have all the answers to belive in Jesus. Yes following Jesus is not easy in this upside down world but it is worth it and i am a living proof of that.
You do not have to be all fixed up to come to Jesus. It is His job to fix you up not yours, my friend, do not carry the burden of being perfect on your shoulders for your story is not one of perfection but of grace.
Jesus is waiting for you, open your heart to Him and He promises to come in and dine with you. Revelations 3:20

The Bible says in Matthew that we are the light and flavour of this world so if we are light, why are we not living fully in our calling?
The world we live in is getting darker by the day and Jesus desires that we represent Him, doing the things that He would do, even greater things. John 14:12.
As a young person myself i am constantly tempted to live according to the dictates of this world even though i know i am called higher. Whenever we fall for the schemes of the enemy we hide ourselves therefore, hide our light. We hide from shining, from representing, from loving, we hide. In the beginning when the first man was created he stood naked and not ashamed before God but when man fell, shame entered his heart and kept us from true intimacy with God. God saw these things and out of love for us, He planned out our salvation through His son Jesus. Now we have been given victory from shame and access to our Heavenly Father.
If you have been lied to by the enemy, deceived, tempted, i’ve been there. If you have sat in darkness so long to the point where it becomes your normal, i’ve been there. If you have believed lies that you now hold on to as “your truth” i’ve been there. If trauma, addiction and shame has caged you to the point where it now negatively affects your whole life, i’ve been there. If you have been depressed, crippled with fear, anxious and paranoid to the point where it affects your physical state, i’ve been there.If you have felt sick in heart, body soul and mind, i have been there.
Jesus Christ saved me and is showing me how to walk fully in my calling with no hindrances and He can do the same for you too, i promise.
Jesus is healing me me because He loves me, He is healing me so i can tell you that He can do the same for you, He is healing me so i can shine. I am currently still in my healing process because some of these things do not happen overnight. But, some do.
With Jesus, it is always a beautiful unfolding and evolving. I am so glad you’re here and that we get to do this together.
